Promotion of Green Economy in the Hill Areas of Nepal and Bangladesh

Major Activities:
  • Conduction of Farmers Field School (FFS) based trainings on Integrated farming systems.
  • Tracking potential farms for organic certification under participatory Guarantee Systems (PGS).
  • Support farmers’ groups for value chain improvement on few selected products. 
  • Establishment of an informal market information system.
  • Study and planning producer company which will provide backward and forward linkages to the farmers. 
Objectives:
  • To scale up the integrated farming system approach towards better farm planning ensuring diet diversity.
  • To strengthen community institutions for better market access towards selling the produces produced in the integrated farms . 
Outputs:
  • SIFS farmers are capacitated for planning the farming activities.
  • Farmers’ access to market improved through smooth operation of the existing market centers in the SIFS project sites.
