Agromorphological characterization of crop varieties is essential for providing the farmers with decision supports in the choice of varieties for their biophysical adaptation, market demands and pest resistance. This study attempted to evaluate various onion varieties and/or their seed lots of various sources in Nepalese agricultural market in terms of quality and quantity of production under farmers' field condition. Observation trial was conducted in the farmers' field condition at Beni of Myagdi district. Altogether eleven varieties and/or the seed lots of various descents provided by the SEAN Seed Service Center Limited were evaluated. All tested varieties displayed spectrum of variability in various morpho-horticultural traits. A large variation in yield among the closely related varieties gave the indication of the varying degree of degradation in the genetic properties of some of the varieties in the course of successive regeneration.
