Who we are

FORWARD is an autonomous, non-profit making, service-oriented non-governmental organization which has been established to improve the livelihoods of under-privileged rural communities using the principles of self help. Initiated by a team of community development professionals in 1996, it is registered at the District Administration Office, Chitwan and affiliated to the Social Welfare Council of Nepal. FORWARD creates a forum of researchers,

development professionals, rural people and funding organizations who are committed to working together for community empowerment, adaptive research and development.

Where we work

Our activities are mainly focused on the poverty-stricken communities in several hill and terai districts of Nepal. Headquartered in Bharatpur town in Chitwan district, we have satellite offices in the working districts.

Our Goal
      

Our goal is to raise the living standard of rural communities with special emphasis on socially marginalized disadvantaged groups including Dalits, tribal groups, women and children, through integrated, sustainable development interventions.
